Treatment for Colon Cancer
Colon cancer affects thousands of Americans each year across the country and can spread throughout the body if not discovered in its early stages. Colon cancer can be extremely difficult to treat if not discovered in the early stages of the disease. The symptoms of colon cancer, such as blood in the stool or constipation, typically do not show up until the cancer has become well developed in the colon. This is why doctors recommend that patients get regular colon cancer screening once they reach the age of 50. Some patients will be told to get regular screening earlier than age 50 if they have a family history of colon cancer or have other risk factors for developing the disease. There are various treatment options available for patients suffering from colon cancer including surgery, medicine, and chemotherapy. read more »
